She was best known as a host for the shows like “Outnumbered” and “The Five” which are broadcasted by the Fox News Channel. She also wrote a book called “Tied Up in Knots: How Getting What We Wanted Made Women Miserable”. She quit Fox News, alleging sexual harassment.
Early life and background
Andrea Tantaros was born on December 30, 1978 in Allentown, Pennsylvania, United States of America. Her family ran a restaurant business. They owned a Greek restaurant named Pied Piper Diner. Andrea spent her childhood in Allentown. She used to help her family in running her business.
For her school education, Andrea attended the Parkland High School in Allentown, Pennsylvania and graduated from there in the year 1997. Thereafter, she enrolled in Lehigh University and earned her graduation degree in French and journalism in 2001. During her college days she used to write political commentaries. After gaining her graduation degree she went to France and enrolled herself in “the Sorbonne” which is also known as the “University of Paris” to pursue her post graduates degree. After gaining her master’s degree she shifted her base to Washington DC in 2003 to fulfill he dreams and make her career.
Tantaros started her career as a spokes person for the Governor William Weld of Massachusetts. She also served as the spokesperson for the then Congressmen Pat Toomey and for Thomas Reynolds, the former National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman. In subsequent years she established her own firm called “Andrea Tantaros Media”. Her firm used to provide assistance to fortune 500 companies to tackle issues like crisis management and also helped them to prepare effective media strategy. It also created political campaigns.
In April 2010, the 1.63 meter tall Andrea got the chance to join the Fox News Channel as a political contributor. In the following year she was selected as a co-host of the show “The Five”. Her anchoring skills made the show one of most popular programs in American television beating all its competitors in MSNBC and CNN. Lawsuit Controversy against Fox News
She sued Fox News, ex-CEO Roger Ailes and five key executives including Bill O’Reilly for sexual harassment. She went on to say in her lawsuit that Fox News “masquerades as defender of traditional family values, but behind the scenes, it operates like a se*-fueled, Playboy Mansion-like cult, steeped in intimidation, indecency, and misogyny.” She went on to say that she was discouraged to complain against some of the top male executives and specially against Roger Ailes, as he was a ‘very powerful man’. The lawsuit came one month after Gretchen Carlson’s lawsuit against Roger Ailes.
