Gretchen Elizabeth Carlson is an eminent television personality and a talented author from America. She is best recognised as ex-Miss America beauty pageant winner, 1989. Carlson co-hosted a morning show in Fox News Channel with Brian Kilmeade and Steve Doocy called “Fox and Friends”. After serving the show for 8 long years, in 2013 Carlson moved on to launch a daytime program named “The Real Story with Gretchen Carlson”. On 23rd June in 2016 Carlson’s contract with Fox Channel expired. Soon after on 6th July Carlson launched a lawsuit appealing sexual harassment against the CEO of Fox News, Roger Ailes.
Early life and background
Carlson was born on 21st June in the year 1966 in Anoka, Minnesota to Lee and Karen Carlson. She was raised with two brothers and one sister in a Lutheran family.
Carlson was an extremely talented violinist, she not only won various local and national competition but also performed with the Minnesota Orchestra as a soloist. Carlson also showed her talent in studies, she graduated from Anoka High School and earned her bachelor degree from Stanford University in sociology.

Carlson started her television career as a political reporter for WRIC-TV. Carlson also worked as a reporter and anchor for KXAS-TV. After leaving the job, she served as an anchor and reporter for WOIO TV and WCPO-TV. In 2000, Gretchen joined CBS News as a correspondent and later in 2002, started co-hosting “The Early Show” with Russ Mitchell from where she originally gained her fame.
In 2005, Fox News recruited this talented and hard working reporter for hosting the popular show named ‘Fox and Friends’ affiliated by Fox News channel. In June 2016 Carlson’s contract with Fox News suddenly came to an end following by a controversy. On 6th July 2016, Carlson filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against the CEO and Chairman of Fox News channel, Roger Ailes. Carlson claimed that Alies fired her from Fox News channel for refusing his sexual advances and against Co-host Steve Doocy for pervasive comments at her. Carlson also said that Doocy used to mock her during the ad breaks.
