Stephen James Doocy, better known as Steve Doocy to his admirers, is a television personality. He currently works for Fox News Channel. Steve’s work is not restrained to television only; he likes to put his writing skill to test time and again and is the author of two bestselling books.
Early Life
In Algona, Iowa, Steve was born on 19th Oct 1956, to JoAnne and James Doocy, the sales and construction professionals. Doocy’s grandfather is a descent from an Irish family which makes Steve an Irish descent too. Though Doocy was born in Iowa, he was raised in Kansas where he had attended his grade schools. Later he went to Wakefield from where he had completed his junior years and finished his high school from Clay Center Kansas. Doocy had done his graduation in journalism from University of Kansas. While studying in Kansas University, he started working as a DJ for a local radio station which was operated by the students.
Career
At the beginning of his career, Doocy started anchoring the morning newscaster for CBS TV, a popular New York based television channel. Previous to joining the CBS TV he served as the co-host of Wake Up America which was aired on NBC cable. Along with this he worked as the host of another popular show which is called ‘House Party with Steve Doocy’, a program aired nationally, a re-creation of 1960’s popular show ‘Art Linklette’. He also hosted a show which has been created for the children titled ‘Not Just News’.
Six years of his life he has spent working for WRC as the Emmy Award winning reporter. His early career television shows featured him as the news reporter of the channel in Kansas City. In Dick Clerk’s ‘New Year’s Rocking Eve’, he worked as the Time Square reporter on ABC.
In 1996, he switched his job and joined Fox News. While working for Fox he helped them launch their New Year’s Eve special called All American New Year, a popular show which is currently hosted by Bill Hammer and Megyn Kelly. Doocy is one of the regular hosts of Fox News Channel’s morning show for the weekdays, this he hosts with Ansley Earhardt and Brian Kilmeade.
Books
Doocy apart from being a well-known television personality, is a bestselling author as well. He has penned down two books, both of which have reached the New York Times bestselling list. His first book, titled ‘Mr. and Mrs. Happy Handbook’ focuses on the issues of married life. While working as a reporter he has noticed that people get connected to news they can relate to. This gave him the idea of chronicling the real life experiences of people in the book.
His second book is about fatherhood called ‘Tales from the Dad’s Side’.

The 1.83 meter tall Doocy is married to Kathy Gerrity and has three children. The couple live in New Jersey, where Doocy serves as the lector of his Church following his Roman Catholic belief.
