­­­Kimberly Ann Guilfoyle is a cable news personality from America. She has been a co-host of The Five on Fox News Channel. She is an occasional guest host for On the Record with Greta Van Susteren and a contributor to Hannity and The O’Reilly Factor.Prior to these, she was a legal analyst/commentator anchor at Court TV for ABC and Fox News. She was also the First Lady of San Francisco during Gavin Newsom’s first 2 years as a mayor of the city. Guilfoyle is also popularly known as the ex-wife of Gavin Newsom, a Californian Politician.

Early Life and background

Born on 9th March 1969, in San Francisco, to an Irish father and Puerto Rican mother, she grew up in Westlake and the Mission District. Guilfoyle is a graduate from Mercy High School. Her father named Tony, was born in Ireland and came to the US at the age of 20. Her mother, Mercedes, who used to teach special education, died of Leukaemia when Guilfoyle was just eleven years old. Her father served the US army for four years. He worked under constructed trades. He then became a close advisor to Mayor Newsom and real estate investor. He died in 2008.

Guilfoyle graduated from University of California, Davis. In the year 1994, she got a Juris Doctor (J.D) from the University Of San Francisco School Of Law. During the law school days, she interned at the district attorney’s office, San Francisco.

Career

In 1996, Guilfoyle worked as a prosecutor in San Francisco. She lost that job because of Terence Hallinan who was elected as the District Attorney and fired fourteen prosecutors of the city. She spent four years in Los Angeles, working for juvenile and adult cases, including robbery, kidnapping, sexual assault, narcotics, domestic violence and homicide cases. She received several awards at the DA’s office. A “Prosecutor of the Month” was also given to her. In 2000, Hallinan re-hired Guilfoyle as Assistant District Attorney for four years, in San Francisco.

2004 was the year she moved to New York to host a program called ‘Both Sides’ on Court TV. She also went there to take up a job as a Legal Analyst on Anderson Cooper 360 degree. She joined Fox news Channel in 2006.

Controversy

In 2014, she commented that young women should not vote without having any political knowledge and life experience and instead go to dating sites for pass time. This landed her in a bit of a soup.
