Lea Gabrielle Potts, known professionally as Lea Gabrielle is a renowned American broadcast journalist who is known for her work at the Fox network’s Fox News Channel where she serves in the capacity of a news correspondent. Gabrielle also appears as a general assignment reporter on the news and talk show ‘Shepard Smith Reporting’. Gabrielle began her career in journalism in 2000, when she was first employed as a digital journalist by the NBC network where she worked on shows such as NBC Nightly News and The Today Show. She also served in the capacity of a military reporter at KNSD-TV, an NBC affiliate.
Apart from her journalism career, Gabrielle is a distinguished member of the US Navy, having served as a naval officer for 12 years of her career, where she was a fighter pilot. She also held several other military positions which include a squadron public affairs officer, a landing signal officer, an intelligence operations officer, and a foreign liaison officer for defence.

Gabrielle was born as Lea Gabrielle Potts in 1975 in the city of Alexandria, Virginia, United States as the daughter of her parents who raised her in Fairfax County, Virginia and inculcated a sense of patriotism in her right from a young age, which factored into her joining the US Navy. Not much is known about Gabrielle’s early life. She is an American national of white ethnicity.
Gabrielle attended the Mount Vernon High School, Fairfax County where she became a Westinghouse Science Talent Search contest finalist, displaying a passion for science. After graduation, she moved to the United States Naval Academy from where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering in 1997. From 1998 to 2000, Gabrielle studied at the U.S. Navy Flight School, Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida and earned her Naval Aviator Wings. She is also a commercial pilot.

Gabrielle began her career in the capacity of a United States Naval Officer, where she served for 12 years. She served as a fighter pilot aboard the USS George Washington where she was deployed and piloted the “Hornet”, a single seat F/A-18 fighter plane, with “flower” being her official pilot call sign. She also served as both a squadron public affairs officer as well as a landing signal officer. During America’s ‘Operation Enduring Freedom’, Gabrielle was named the intelligence operations officer, embedded to a US Navy Sea unit in Afghanistan, that conducted intelligence operations. She also held the position of a foreign liaison officer for defence.
Gabrielle enrolled into the New York Film Academy after she left the navy in 2009 and earned a certificate in digital journalism. She began her journalism career when she was offered a position with NBC News, Washington D.C., where she served from 2010-2011 as a photographer, writer, editor and producer on shows such as ‘The Today Show’, ‘NBC Nightly News’, and N websites. She also served as a news reporter covering stories for NBC affiliates across USA and NBC Nightly news in her capacity as a digital editor and journalist. Gabrielle was involved in a romantic relationship with former John Hopkins University Systems Manager Greg Sutton, who currently serves as a Naval Officer in the U.S Navy. The couple dated for several years and eventually tied the knot in July 2004 with Gabrielle adopting Sutton’s surname as her own last name. However, the marriage did not last long and the couple eventually divorced. Gabrielle restored her birth name upon divorce from Sutton.
Although, the 1.83 meter tall Gabrielle has hinted through her social media account, twitter that she is dating someone, she has not disclosed the identity of her boyfriend.
