Erin Isabelle Burnett is a reputed American news anchor and the current host of the news show ‘Erin Burnett OutFront’ which airs on the CNN network. Burnett had a career in financial analysis, working with Goldman Sachs until she made her foray into television news hosting, making her first appearance as a Stocks editor and anchor for Bloomberg Television. She also held the position of vice president at the digital media group, CitiMedia of Citigroup.
Burnett has earned the reputation of being a serious and hard-hitting journalist and often applauded for being extremely courageous, reporting stories and documentaries from all over the world. Early Life and Education
Burnett was born on 2 July 1976 in the city of Mardela Springs, Maryland, where she was also raised and is the youngest daughter of Kenneth King Burnett and Esther Margaret (née Stewart). Her mother is a home-maker and her father is a corporate attorney. Burnett has Scottish and Irish roots and practices Roman Catholicism.
Burnett attended St. Andrew’s School in Middletown Delaware, from which she graduated in 1994. She later attended Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts and graduated with a Bachelor Of Arts Degree in the field of Political Economy. An active sportsperson during her undergraduate years, Burnett played field hockey and lacrosse.
Career Rise
When Burnett was employed at Goldman Sachs, she received an offer from CNN to be a writer and booker for their show ‘Moneyline’, which was the first time Burnett, came face to face with television broadcasting. She later quit CNN to become a VP at Citigroup, only to return to television with Bloomberg Television where she served as a Stock Editor and Anchor. Burnett started a career at CNBC in 2005 as the host of the show ‘Street Signs’. She also co-hosted ‘Squawk on the Street’ alongside Mark Haines. She left the network in 2011, returning to CNN, where she was given her own show, ‘Erin Burnett OutFront’ which has been on air since 2011. She has hosted the show live from the borders of countries like Afghanistan, Rwanda, United Arab Emirates, Mali and Israel and also reported from Pakistan and China.

Burnett is married to David Rubulotta, a finance executive who she met in 2003 on a blind date. The current Managing Director of Citigroup, Rubulotta was earlier employed by Lehman Brothers as a trader. The couple got engaged in September 2011 and married the following year, in December 2012.
Together they have two children, a son named Nyle Thomas Burnett Rubulotta, born in November 2013 and a daughter named Colby Isabelle, born in July 2015.
