Hill was brought up in Connecticut by her single mother Jennifer. She was born on July 20th 1976. Before starting her Journalism career Hill earned a degree in Journalism from Boston University in 1998. She is known to speak French fluently.
Career
Her career started when ‘PC Week Radio’ appointed Hill as the Production Assistant in 1998.. Hill was quite appreciated for the role she played in covering 11th September 2011, Terrorist Attack’, while working for Tech TV from 2000 to 2002. In January 2003, Hill achieved a milestone in her career when CNN asked her to join as an anchor for ‘Headline News’
In 2004, Hill was recruited by CNN as a correspondent in ‘CNN Newsource’. She started her own show in 2008 called ‘Prime News with Erica’. She also contributed in the Saturday Edition of ‘The Early Show’ as a temporary anchor till 2008, six months later she was made permanent co-anchor in the show by CBS.
Hill made such an impact in her earlier shows that on 13th January 2010, she was offered to host the weekday edition on ‘The Early Show’ as well. She accepted the same and the show were launched on air. She covered for Maggie Rodriguez when she was pregnant and on leave. Hill anchored the ‘CBS Evening News’ when Scott Pelley was in Afghanistan in 2010. She was approached to co-anchor ‘CBS News Morning Program’ with Charlie Rose and Gayle King, she accepted the offer and started working on the show.
Hill took a step ahead and joined NBC in 2012 as the co-anchor for Weekend Today and a national correspondent for NBC News. Her stay in the channel made her quite popular, making her earn praise from the NBC News President Steve Capus. Hill. She stayed with NBC for a long time and finally quit her job in 2016 in order to spend more time with her family.
Recently in 2016, Hill gladly declared that HLN has offered her to join back. She also said that joining HLN back is like homecoming for her.
