Stephanie Ruhle is a journalist, NBC News correspondent and an MSNBC anchor from America. Prior to this, she was a news anchor and managing editor for Bloomberg Television. She was also an editor-in-large for Bloomberg News. Ruhle was a part of the Bloomberg GO as a co-host in the Bloomberg Television. She is known as one of the first journalist to cover the 2012 story of London Whale who identified the trader behind the trading loss of 2012 JPMorgan Chase.
Early Life and Background
Born on 27th December 1975, Ruhle graduated from Lehigh University. She received the bachelor’s degree from that university under International Business in 1997. She studied in Guatemala, Kenya and Italy as her major. Ruhle was born and brought up in Park Ridge, New Jersey.
Career
Stephanie Ruhle joined Bloomberg Television on October 2011 where she co-hosted Inside Track with Erik Schatzker. This program is a two-hour early morning show. David Westin and Ruhle currently host the Bloomberg GO. She has profiled many famous figures like Michael Bloomberg (the New York City mayor), Lloyd Blankfein (Goldman Sachs CEO), David Tepper and Stanley Druckenmiller (Hedge fund manager), Donald Trump, Kobe Bryant (NBA Player), Russell Simmons, Jordan Spieth( master winner), Dwayne Wade (Miami heat star), Terry Lundgren (Chair and CEO of Macy’s), Kanye West, Sean Combs, Jamie Dimon (CEO and Chairman of JPMorgan), Sean Parker, Martha Stewart and many more.
Along with Bloomberg TV reporters Mary Childs and Bradley Keoun, Ruhle covered the story of ‘London Whale’ in April 2012. She reported about Bruno Iksil who had large positions which was enough to distort the prices in the credit derivative market worth $10 trillion. In June 2013, she wrote quite a provocative response to Paul Tudor Jones’ comment on women in trading. The Huffington Post had provoked response from financial and media industries. In the same year, she sat with Martha Stewart to discuss about blogging, social media and the creation of lifestyle category.
Before working for Bloomberg, she worked in the financial industry for fourteen years. She spent a time in summer internship in Meryll Lynch, while she was still in college. Ruhle joined Credit Sussie, where she spent around six years working in the hedge fund sales. She worked as the vice president for Credit Sussie First Boston, and became the highest producing salesperson of credit derivatives in the US. 2003 was the year when she joined Deutsche Bank and managed hedge funds as credit salesperson. She completed her 8-year career as a managing director of Global Markets Senior Relationship Management. While working for the Deutsche Bank, Ruhle founded a network called Global Market Women’s Network to help women rise and move into leadership roles in the company.
Ruhle has also appeared in various magazines as a columnist. She is working for a website called Shape.com. She had been on the cover of Working Mother magazine as well as for Fit Pregnancy.
