Early Life and background
Sheena was born on 23rd September 1987 in India to father Mark, a computer programmer and mother, a German working for the US. . Sheena spent her childhood in the gulf coast of Florida. She was an active child .She used to take part in volleyball and represented her school in various events. From her school days, Sheena had deep interest in space and weather science. After completing her school education she enrolled in Florida State University and earned a degree in Meteorology. She also studied mathematics as her minor subject during graduation.
Career
Sheena started her career as an intern in Tallahassee News. It is the fourth largest channel in American television market. Due her satisfactory performance as an intern, she was awarded a job offer to work for the channel. It was a dream come true experience for her. She accepted the offer and joined as a reporter and meteorologist in WCTV in Tallahassee, Florida. She also used to work as a columnist for the weekend shows that were broadcasted during the morning hours. Apart from this, she used to report on news that deals with the environmental issues.
On November 2009, Sheena left WCTV after serving the company for few years. Thereafter, she joined the WTVT as a meteorologist and columnist. She served as a host of a morning show called “Pet Adoption” for the channel. After serving the channel for two years she resigned from the post. In December 2011, she shifted her base to Philadelphia to join the network NBC 10. She is currently associated with the channel as a weather forecaster.
With her intelligence and sound presentation skills, she has become one of the most sought after weather forecasters and meteorologists in American media world as well as among the masses. She can be regarded as a role model in the American Broadcast Weather Journalism sector. Her talent won her the “American Meteorologist Society’s seal of Certified Broadcast Meteorologist” in 2011.
