Robin Michelle Meade or Robin Meade is a popular lead news anchor known for hosting ‘Morning Express with Robin Meade’. This program is HLN’s morning show. Robin is also a former Miss Ohio. She began her career in broadcasting with local stations of the state. Robin has also won a regional Emmy Award and has released an album on country music in the year 2011. Her second album was released in 2013.
Early Life and Background
Born on April 21, 1969, in New London, Ohio, Robin did her schooling from New London High School. She attended the Ashland University and Malone University. Her major was television/radio production, performance and programming. She did her minor in Political Science and completed her graduation in 1991 with majors in performance and programming. 1992 was the year when she became Miss Ohio and became the semi-finalist at the Miss America event.
Career
While in Ohio, she started her career in broadcasting at WMFD-TV as a reporter out there. She then went to Columbus, Ohio and switched to WCMH-TV, worked as the reporter and anchor. She also worked at WHW-TV in Cleveland. Later she found a job at Miami, Florida as a morning news anchor on Today in Florida, a WSVN-TV show. Robin also worked as the health care reporter and station’s noon anchor. She had worked for NBC Chicago affiliate WMAQ-TV and anchored the morning newscasts there. She then co-anchored the weekend newscasts and also worked for a station as the general assignment correspondent. During the tenure here, with NBC, she covered the Olympics held in 1996, which included the special report about the Centennial Olympic Bombing.
Meade joined HLN, and anchored the coverage of Operating Enduring Freedom. She also covered the Operating Iraqi Freedom in 2003 springtime. Her first day on-air at HLN was September 11, 2001 (when the terrorist attack on World Trade Centre took place). Her book named Morning Sunshine!: How to Radiate Confidence and Feel It Too, was released on September, 2009. She describes the book as a motivational, non-fictional, inspirational and autobiographical. This book has been kept under the how-to, miscellaneous and advice section of the best sellers list of New York Times. She also hosted the show Ask Oprah’s All Stars with Suze Orman, Dr Phil McGraw and Dr. Mehmet Oz.
Robin released albums on country music in 2011 which was called Brand New Day. Her single, The Laundry was out on the country radio. Robin featured on a cover of January/February issue of Making Music magazine in 2011. Being the part of the NASCAR Sprint Cup pre-race events for Toyota/Save Mart 350 (2010), Coke Zero 400 (2012) and Coca-Cola 600 (2013), Robin sang the song called Star Spangled Banner.
