Born on 4th May 1978, in Lewiston, Maine, to Paula and Steven Andrews, Erin and family moved to San Antonio, Texas when she was five years old. Paula was a teacher and Steven was a TV journalist. They later moved to Tampa, Florida after 18 months when her father, a winner of 6 Emmy Awards, began working as an investigative journalist for WFLA-TV, an NBC affiliate.

Erin was caught in a major controversy in 2008, because of Michael David Barrett in 2008. She was being secretly filmed by him in a hotel room being bare. This incident took place in Nashville Marriott. Michael had reportedly filmed her through peepholes. The video was posted on the internet and went viral.

He was sent to jail in 2010 for two and half years and fined money for his act. He served his sentence and was released in 2012. Andrews had sued the hotel staff for invasion of privacy and negligence in connection to the taping of the video. She has filed cases against Michael and was given compensation accordingly

Abrams graduated with honors and got selected to Phi Beta Kappa Society, an old, prestigious honor society for liberal sciences and arts in USA that has 284 active chapters. She also served as the President of the chapter in Delta Phi Epsilon social organization.

Abrams was always interested in stars and sky; hence, she has a second degree, B.S. in Meteorology from FSU- Florida State University in Tallahassee where she graduated with honors. The Hurricane Andrew that created massive destruction in Florida inspired her to take weather forecasting as her career. Abrams, like all the other meteorology students had practical experience in live forecasts in FSU Live. FSU i.e. Florida State University manages to put up a live student-run weather and news production on Tallahassee cable channel. Abrams has worked as the assistant teacher at FSU, and taught about meteorology to the class.

She is a member of the American Meteorological Society (AMS) and National Weather Association (NWA) and was a President of the Chapter of Northern Florida of AMS from the year 2002 -2003.

Career

Abram started her career as a morning meteorologist at WTXL, an ABC associate in Florida. In 2003 she began to work for The Weather Channel.  Her first appearance on TV was through a show called Weekend View, in which she was a co-host.

On 2006 she became a meteorologist on camera as a co-host to Abrams and Bettes: Beyond the Forecast. She began co-hosting Wake up With Al on July, 2009 which came to an end in 2015.

Career

Guthrie started with broadcasting at KMIZ an ABC affiliate at Columbia, Missouri. She served there for 2 years before coming back to Tucson. She worked with KVOA in 1995.  She then took a job at WRC-TV in Washington D.C after a five year period in Arizona. While in Washington D.C. she managed to cover the big story related to 11th September, 2001 Pentagon attack and also the Anthrax Attack that took place in the same year.
