Carrie Fisher was a famous American actress, producer, writer and a humorist who is the daughter of the famous celebrity duo Eddie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds. She was famous for portraying the character of Princess Leia in the Star Wars film series. She is also famous for a number of other movies including Shampoo, The Blues Brothers, Hannah and Her Sisters, The Burbs et cetera.

Early life and education
Carrie Fisher was born as Carrie Frances Fisher on October 21, 1956 in Burbank California to famous singer Eddie Fisher and popular American actress Debbie Reynolds. She inherited an English and Scottish ancestry from her maternal side while a Jewish and Russian ancestry from her paternal side.
Even with all the fame and glamour, Fisher didn’t have the ideal childhood because her father abandoned her and her mother for another woman. Her parents legalised their divorce when she was just two years old. Her mother remarried a shoe store owner, Harry Karl who ended up utilising all of Debbie’s money without her knowing.
Fisher did her schooling from the Beverly Hills High School till she was fifteen years old but later had to drop out for appearing as a singer and debutante in the Broadway show titled Irene. She later enrolled herself in the Central School of Speech and Drama in the year 1973 where she studied for the 18 month course. Following that, in the year 1978, she got accepted in the Sarah Lawrence College but she later dropped out for filming the Star War’s series.

She later signed the contract for appearing in the Star War’s series in the year 1977 in which she portrayed the role of Princess Leia alongside Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford. One thing that she has been consistent about was her expectations from the Star Wars series while many people were not that convinced with the script.
Apart from the big screen, Fisher has also appeared on a lot of TV shows, including the show Ringo in which she portrayed the character of Ringo Starr’s love interest. Her character in the movie Leave Yesterday Behind was widely praised alongside her portrayal of the character of the “vengeful ex-lover” in the movie The Blues Brothers.

Carrie Fisher died on December 23, 2016 when she experienced a heart attacked while she was in a flight from London. Her mother, Debbie Reynolds breathed her last just the day after her death.
