George was born on 10th February 1961, in Massachusetts. Both of his parents are of Greek descent. His father is an orthodox Greek priest. His mother was the director of national news service of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. Because of his upbringing, George adopted his parents’ faith as a child.
In 1982, he got his bachelor degree in arts from Columbia University. He was the salutation of the class. He was also awarded Harry S Truman Scholarship. He was the sports broadcaster while Columbia University.
His father wanted him to be a lawyer, if he does not want to become a priest.
