Ann Hart Coulter is renowned American conservative political commentator who is also known for her work as a best-selling author, lawyer and a syndicated columnist. She is a prominent radio and television personality. Coulter is a self proclaimed controversial figure who is known for her abrasive style of commentary and ‘telling it as it is’. She does not shy away from giving her opinions and has maintained that unlike other broadcasters, she does not have the skill, nor tries to have a diplomatic approach.

Early Life and Education
Coulter was born in New York City on 8 December 1961 to Nell Husbands Martin and FBI Agent John Vincent Coulter. She has two older brothers named James and John, with whom she was raised in New Canaan, Connecticut, in a conservative household by Republican parents.
Coulter attended New Canaan High School from where she graduated in 1980. Coulter later attended Cornell University from where she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in History degree in 1984. She was one of the founding members of the university’s independent newspaper ‘The Cornell Review.’ In 1988, Coulter earned a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Michigan Law School where she also served as an editor at the Michigan Law Review.
Career Rise
Coulter began her career in the capacity of a a Law Clerk working for senior federal judge Pasco Bowman II. With the Republican party coming to power in 1994, She was appointed at the U.S Senate Judiciary Committee where she served under Senator Spencer Abraham, handling crime and immigration issues. She was hired as a legal correspondent by MSNBC in 1996 but was fired twice over insensitive and controversial comments.
In 1998, she released her first best-seller titled ‘High Crimes and Misdemeanors: The Case against Bill Clinton’. Since the 1990’s Coulter has had a career writing syndicated columns, especially for Universal Press Syndicate. Her works have been featured in various conservative publications as well as websites. In 1999, she was hired by George Magazine as a regular columnist and wrote exclusively for ‘Human Events’, a conservative magazine from 1998-2003.
