Anahit Misak “Ana” Kasparian is a renowned American political pundit. She also serves as producer and co-host of ‘The Young Turks’, an online news show and commentary program that that releases vidoes on YouTube. Kasparian has been in the industry for almost a decade now and is known for her strong political opinions and as well as her outspokenness. Early life and Education
Kasparian was born in Northridge, Los Angeles, California, USA on July 7, 1986 to parents who emigrated from Armenia to America. While her nationality is American her ethnicity is Armenian. She was raised in the city of Reseda in Los Angeles and spoke Armenian as a toddler as it was her first language spoken at home. Kasparians great grandfather on her father’s side of the family experienced the Armenian genocide of 1915, first hand.
Kasparian did not speak a single word of English until she started kindergarten. She attended and graduated from Van Nuys’ Valley Alternative Magnet High School in the year 2004. She later obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from California State University, Northridge and graduated in 2007. She also has a Masters Degree in Political Science.

Kasparian started her career in the capacity of an Assistant producer at the CBS radio news station KFWB in Los Angeles and also worked another affiliate of CBS, KNX in the early days of her career. She has also held positions at the very reputed AOL News and also worked for TidalTV, YouTube and WBUR radio station where she hosted ‘On Point’, a two-hour radio call-in show.
Although Kasparian started off as a fill in host for ‘The Young Turks’ in April 2007, she was later named the producer. She has been co-hosting the show since 2008 with Cenk Urgur, a fellow Armenian. The show is a progressive talk radio that airs on Sirius XM Satellite Radio and is also an internet and TV show. For TYT, she also co-hosted ‘TYT University’, a show that focused on the issues faced by students at universities for many years. Since 2012, Kasparian has been the co-host to the main host on ‘The Point’, also on TYT. Kasparian aslo serves as a professor at CSUN, teaching journalism.
