Folasade Olayinka Baderinwa is popularly known as Sade Baderinwa. She is a news anchor at WABC Channel 7, New York. She is a co-host on “Eyewitness News” with Diana Williams, which is a weekday 5 pm edition. She is also a co-host at 11 pm news with Bill Ritter.
Early Life and Background
Born on 14th April, 1969, in Baltimore, Maryland, her father is a Nigerian and mother a German. Her first name “Folasade” has a thoughtful meaning. It means “honor confers a crown”. She completed her graduation from the University of Maryland College Park. Baderinwa has a sad past of being abandoned at a very young age. She was later adopted by a middle class African-American family.
Even after being abandoned, she has maintained contact with her real/biological father in Nigeria. She is in touch with her adoptive family too.

Career
Baderinwa joined WABC in the year 2003 after a small stint in her hometown Baltimore. She has done some work there as a news anchor on WBAL-TV for three years. She replaced Roz Abrams, who left WABC in 2003.
On July 2004, she was preparing a news report at in Hackensack, New Jersey about a flood that took place locally. It was at that time when she was struck by a hit and run driver who dared to go through the police lines. After several surgeries and many months of recovery, she came back on Eyewitness News in December, 2004. For her dedication and efforts, Baderinwa was recognized with the NJ Governor’s Representative Award for traffic safety.
She appeared on a show called “The View” as a guest co-host in October, 2006. 2011 was the year when she became a co-host with Bill Ritter on the 11 pm slot.
Very early in her career, she has reported for WSLS in Roanoke, Virginia. Baderinwa was a reporter trainee at WUSA-TV, Washington D.C. , and also been a production assistant for the famous ABC News programs- News One, World News Tonight, Nightline with David Brinkley.
Sade is known for a humanitarian approach and has been appreciated by everyone for her works. She is one of the most influential media personalities in America as she has maintained a good connection with the local people, the politicians an student wherever she has worked. She has also successfully initiated a program called Get Reel with Your Dreams- the Inside Track.

Sade had an affair with Mayor Martin J. O’Malley who was already married to Amber. When Sade was hit and run by a car during her reporting, it is said, that the plan was constructed by Amber, as she was furious knowing about the relationship. There were rumors of Sade becoming pregnant and that is why Amber took this step. It took her six months to recover.
After the horrific accident, Martin never met Sade even once. However, all of these are a major controversy that is still unclear.
