Stana Katic is a talented Canadian-American television and film actress. She is known for her performance in an ABC hit series Castle. Her role as Kate Beckett had been appreciated by a lot of people around the world.
Early Life and Background
Born on 26th April, 1978, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, Stana Katic calls her family as Dalmatians. This is because her parents are Siberians from Croatia. She and her family later moved to Illinois. Stana has one sister and four brothers. She spent the following years moving from Canada and USA. Her mother is from Sinj, Croatia and father is from Vrlika, Croatia. Stana graduated from West Aurora High School, in the year 1996. She then studied at University of Toronto. At DePaul University Goodman School of Drama, she learned acting from 2000-2002. She also studied acting in an drama school named Beverly Hills Playhouse. She knows how to speak in English, Croatian, Serbian, French, Slovenian and Italian very fluently.
Career achievements
Katic started her career as Hana Gitelman in Heroes. She had a role in 24’s series, season 5 as Collette Stenger. She was in a movie called Feast of Love which also had Morgan Freeman. Her other films are The Spirit, Quantum of Solace of James Bond film. She appeared in the Librarian franchise- The Librarian: Curse of the Judas Chalice.
In 2008, ABC announced the acquisition of the television series Castle. The series where Stana Katic played the role of Kate Beckett and Nathon Fillion played the role of Richard Castle. Stana lived in Los Angeles while shooting for Castle. In the same year, Stana created her own production company called Sine Timore Productions. These are Latin words which means -without fear. 2010 was the year when Stana worked in a film called For Lovers Only with the Polish brothers and also appeared in The Double beside Richard Gere. In May 2011, she won the Most Glamorous Actress online for Monte-Carlo Television Festival.
Stana was a presenter in the 64th Annual Directors Guild of America Awards ceremony. She was given the PRISM Awards for her best shot in the drama series Castle, for playing a PTSD patient. The episodes name was Kill Shot. Katic was also nominated as the Favorite Dramatic TV Actress in 39th People’s Choice Award. In the 40th People’s Choice Awards, Stana won the Favorite Dramatic TV Actress. In the same award ceremony, Castle also won the Favorite TV Crime Drama category. Unfortunately, on April 2016, Stana took an exit from Castle. ABC did not renew the contract for Stana in Castle Season 8. Eventually, on May 2016, Castle was stopped after eight seasons.
