Elisabeth Hasselbeck is a famous American television personality. She is also a famous talk show host. She was born in Cranston and went to St. Mary Academy as a teenager. She has done her graduation from Boston College. On 2001, she rose as one of the contestants in the second season of American show Survivor. She finished in the fourth place of the show.

On 2003’s November, she replaced Lisa Ling the fourth co-host of The View. She was awarded for outstanding talk show hosting during 36th Daytime Emmy Award. Almost 10 years later she left the series. After that she accepted the job of co-hosting for Fox & Friends. On 2015, she announced her desire to leave Fox & Friends to spend time with her children. Her last show was on Dec 2015.

Early Life

Elisabeth Hasselbeck was born on 28th May, 1977. Her father is a polish and mother is an Italian. Her brother Kenneth is an attorney. He is also an aspiring musician. She was raised as Roman Catholic. She went to St. Mary School. Then she went to Boston College. She was the captain of the softball team of the college.

 

Career

 

In 2001, Hasselbeck was selected for Survivor: The Australian Outback. In this series, she was almost voted out at the first counsel. Then she went on winning the competition. She was asked to return to Survivor: All Stars. However, she declined the offer.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck did not have any desire to be on limelight. She wanted to be behind the scene. However, her agent wanted to showcase her talent. This led her to go for ‘The View’ audition in the year 2003. She became a permanent co-host of the show when Lisa Ling walked out in the year 2002.

In ‘The View’, her perspectives have been on the conservative side.  On August 2, 2006, she opposed Food and Drug Administration Plan to include the ‘morning after pill’ as an OTC medication.  On May 23, 2007, she was involved in an on-air heated debate with co-host Rosie O’Donnell. While  Hasselbeck supported the Iraqi war, Donnell did not agree with her.

The same year, another argument broke free between Elisabeth Hasselbeck and her The View co-host Whoopi Goldberg. They were discussing Hillary Clinton’s decision to pay $5,000 bond for each child birth. Elisabeth Hasselbeck said that women would now opt for the money and will not abort the child.

On 8th March, 2013, it was reported that she would be fired. A study showed that viewers found her views to be too conservative for their taking. However, later this had been waved off as the channel revealed no intention of firing her.

On September 2013, she joined Fox show, Fox & Friends. That year the show’s rating increased 9 percent. Along with the rating the viewership also increased by 10 percent.

On 2002, she married her boyfriend Tim Hasselbeck. They have a daughter called Grace and two sons, Tylor and Isaiah. While the daughter was born in the year 2005, the two sons were born in the year 2007 and 2009 respectively.

She has Celiac disease. She has even written a book on that subject ‘The G-Free Diet: A Gluten-Free Survival Guide’. Apart from the book, she also introduced her own brand of gluten-free products known NoGii.

She lives in Greenwich,  Connecticut. Her mansion is worth $4.795 million. The 7605 square feet property includes seven beds, eight baths,  two walk-in closets, a massive chef’s kitchen and a terrace which overlooks a private pool.
